A heartbroken family has demanding answers after a father of three passed away after being Tasered “several times” by police.
Sali Byberi, 29 years old, died last month after reportedly assaulting a police officer sent to an Essex residence to investigate “a disturbance.”

While police investigated the incident, body camera footage reviewed by the Independent Office of Police Conduct (IOPC) indicates that Mr. Byberi “allegedly assaulted an officer.” Taser rendered him comatose after he apparently resisted arrest.
Now, the family members of the ‘family-oriented’ and ‘hardworking’ father are seeking answers from authorities as they ‘attempt to come to terms with his passing.’

Mr. Byberi died around 1.15 p.m. on November 21 at a residence on Clock House Way in Braintree after an officer discharged a Taser at him “several times” for resisting arrest on suspicion of assault.
Less than two hours previously, two officers were dispatched to the property to investigate a disturbance.
Police have not yet disclosed the reasons why cops were dispatched to the residence or Mr. Byberi’s role in the event.
According to an IOPC report, body camera footage shows officers engaging with multiple individuals before to the alleged assault by Mr. Byberi.
Officers attempted to arrest Mr. Byberi, but surveillance film reveals that he resisted.
An cop then struck him multiple times with a Taser, “immobilizing” him, before he became abruptly ill.
Despite the arrival of paramedics, Mr. Byberi died in his residence.
Eli Sokolaj, through their attorneys at Irwin Mitchell, paid tribute to Mr. Byberi and demanded an explanation for his “traumatic” death today.
Ms. Sokolaj stated, “We are still unable to comprehend what transpired and how Sali was snatched from us.
It has been tremendously hard to come to terms with his passing and the fact that he will no longer be in our life, but especially his children’s.
‘It is very impossible to find the words to express the grief and pain we experience. We have so many questions, and at this point our only hope is to receive some answers.

Leonora Mafra, 31, is now alone responsible for raising their three children, Akil, eight, Egilson, six, and Fabio, five.
“Sali was such a caring individual. Ms. Sokolaj noted that he was highly family-oriented and adored his wife Leonora and his children.
Nothing was ever too much bother for him as he was also hardworking, outgoing, and generous. He was always there when folks needed assistance.
Since then, the IOPC has initiated an investigation into Mr. Byberi’s death and extended its condolences to his family.
Director of the IOPC Amanda Rowe expressed her condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Byberi. We’ve reached out to them to clarify our position, and we’ll keep them informed as our investigation unfolds.
“When a person dies following contact with the police, it is crucial that we conduct a comprehensive and independent inquiry that examines all the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate tragedy.
‘After being contacted by the police department, IOPC investigators arrived at the scene and assumed responsibility of a forensic assessment.
‘IOPC investigators also participated in police post-incident procedures, when involved officers offered their statements.
We will continue to collect evidence in order to reconstruct the events that transpired.
The family’s attorney from Irwin Mitchell, Juliet Spender, stated, ‘While it’s only appropriate that a thorough inquiry be conducted, Sali’s loved ones are naturally concerned about the circumstances that transpired on the day he died.
We are assisting the investigation into the circumstances behind Sali’s death in order to provide the family with the answers they need.
