About three hundred and fifty candidates have received the sacrament of confirmation from the Archbishop, Ecclesiastical Province of The Niger, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim, during a Church service that took place at the Anglican Church of The Pentecost, Government House Awka, which also featured admissions into father’s fellowship and Women’s Guild.
Correspondent, Amaka Chibuzor Okoye reports that Most Reverend Ibezim who is also the Bishop, Diocese of Awka, in a sermon during the church service, said with the height in God’s vine yard, the candidates who received the sacrament of confirmation will be guided by the holy spirit and would be witnesses of Christ and will not be ashamed in preaching Jesus Christ for his salvation unto man.
The Anglican Prelate, challenged them to be steadfast, be rooted in God and mandated them to use their youthful energy to work and win souls for Christ as well as ensure that they promote good morals and avoid any act that could mar their future.

He encouraged the newly admitted fathers to maintain the pastorship which God made them in their different homes, provide and back their families with prayers while the mothers should renew their marital vows as various problems in the society emanate from broken homes.
Speaking shortly after her admission, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Willie Obiano on Broadcasting, Mrs Ify Aronu-Okafor reaffirmed her promise to God to be faithful to him, her husband and others and noted that the new position is a higher calling to do her beat in the advancement of God’s kingdom and called on mother’s to be active and steadfast.
In their separate speeches, two of the newly admitted father’s, Mr Peter Onyejekwu and Prince Emeka Okeke thanked God for his grace upon them, adding that they have been reminded of their duties as father’s which they will live out for the propagation of the gospel.
For some of the newly confirmed candidates, Messrs Divine Okeke, Okoye Nmesoma and Victor Chinweuba, they will keep to the promise of the vows taken, so as to attain a brighter future.
