The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH (German Agency for Multinational Cooperation) is a German federal government-owned international corporation that works in over 130 countries in a variety of sectors.
GIZ’s portfolio in Nigeria includes, among other things, a program to assist the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) in achieving its regional integration objectives.
The initiative intends to improve sector-specific capacities in the ECOWAS Commission in the areas of peace and security, customs and trade, as well as strategic management and organizational development.
