Manchester City won the 2021-22 Premier League title with a dramatic triumph over Aston Villa on Sunday night.
All Pep Guardiola’s team needed to accomplish was win without worrying about what second-placed Liverpool did against Wolverhampton.
Man City came into the game with 90 points from 37 games, while Liverpool had 89 points from the same amount of games.
Aston Villa stunned Manchester City when Matthew Cash scored in the 37th minute of the first half.
Philippe Coutinho the doubled Aston Villa’s lead with a sublime finish in the 69th minute, and at this stage, City looked dead and buried.
There was drama after 76 minutes as Man City pulled one back through substitute Iikay Gundogan before Rodri made it 2-2 in the 78th minute.
Gundogan wasn’t done as he completed his brace to hand Man City the championship which nearly slipped through their fingers as Liverpool also won their match.
Jürgen Klopp’s men finished second on the Premier League log with 92 points as their efforts were not good enough to topple Man City.
