Police in Houston have identified a carjacker who fatally shot his friend before stealing his vehicle and abandoning his child to perish in the blazing heat.

Bolanle Fadairo, 38, is charged with murdering Michael Essien and his 2-year-old son Micah on September 20 in Houston, Texas.
Essien, 38, argued with Fadairo before being shot and killed in front of his young son, with the assailant fleeing in Essien’s SUV.
Micah was still in the backseat when he was discovered hours later by officers, who suspect he died from heat exhaustion due to the 93°F ambient temperature.
Essien’s wife reported her husband and son missing at 6:40 p.m., hours after he was shot numerous times by Fadairo at El Camino Del Rey at 1:45 p.m.
The deceased father of three is survived by his wife and two more children, including a newborn girl.
Five hours after his father was shot, officers recovered the stolen vehicle with the child inside.
Fadairo’s flat was raided in the early hours of Wednesday morning, and he has been charged with two charges of murder and evidence tampering.

The toddler’s autopsy report has not yet been completed, but investigators believe he died from heat exhaustion after being in the car since 2 p.m.
Officers shattered the SUV’s window and attempted to save the boy, but he was pronounced dead prior to the arrival of an ambulance.

Jessie, Essien’s sister, told ABC that her nephew had only learnt her name and described her brother as a “calm man.”
She stated, “All I want is my brother and my two-year-old daughter who has just learned how to say “Aunt Jessie.”
Sunday, he called Aunt Jessie in the church. He ran and said, “Hi, Auntie Jessie”.
Michael has a five-year-old son and a one-week-old infant. Michael is married. Lord Jesus, I only require my brother.
Surveillance footage saw Fadairo visiting a petrol station store after the murder while wearing a white t-shirt and a black Oakland Raiders baseball cap.

Michael removes his shirt and gives it to other individuals to wear. Michael would donate his final dollar to charity.
Investigators suspect Fadairo met his victim at the agreed-upon place and argued with him before shooting him many times.
Essien ran a short distance before falling in the parking lot as Fadairo stole his Chevrolet Traverse and fled the scene with Micha in the rear.
Larry Satterwhite, executive assistant chief of the Houston Police Department, earlier told reporters, ‘We never knew about the child until she contacted.
It was unfortunately too late. The child had left the vehicle.
“At this point, we do not know the cause of death, nor why or how it will occur. It could be a condition such as heat fatigue; we simply do not know.
This will be determined by an autopsy at a later date.
It’s the most difficult thing we do. Children are virtuous.
Fadairo is captured on surveillance camera casually strolling through a convenience shop after the murder while wearing black shorts, a white t-shirt, and an Oakland Raiders baseball cap.
After the event, Houston Police initiated a manhunt for Fadairo and released surveillance footage of him.
Officers broke the SUV’s window and attempted to save the boy, but by the time an ambulance arrived, he was pronounced dead.
Tuesday around 1:46 p.m., Houston police responded to a shooting near the intersection of El Camino Del Rey Street and Chimney Rock Road in west Houston.
