Tuesday at 10 a.m., the infant was attacked by a Rottweiler and a cow dog in front of his mother and two sisters at the Country Gardens Motor Inn in Cowra, in central-western New South Wales.

It is believed that the canines confiscated by council rangers belong to members of the hotel staff where the boy’s mother, Kesha Pollard, and her children were staying temporarily.

At the Country Gardens Motor Inn Cowra, the vicious dogs attacked the two-year-old, causing him to suffer critical injuries to his neck and face. He died as a result (above)

The infant was attacked by a Rottweiler and a cow dog in front of his mother and two sisters (rottweiler stock image shown).

A devastated relative stated that the children had repeatedly played with the dogs without incident and did not perceive them as a threat.

The family member described it as a “freak attack” that occurred “for no known reason,” according to their statement to The Daily Telegraph.

Witnesses took Jyedon to Cowra Hospital in a critical condition after he sustained severe injuries to his neck and face. He was subsequently taken to Westmead Hospital in Sydney, where he died later that afternoon.

After word of the boy’s death spread across the close-knit neighborhood, heartbreaking tributes inundated Ms. Pollard’s social media profiles.

In the aftermath of the tragedy, detectives established a crime scene and cordoned off the location, but no charges have been filed.

“Thinking of you and your family,” one individual wrote.

Another responded, “OMG, I’m so sorry.”

Others responded, “My sympathies to the family” and “Fly high, my friend.”
