Approved biannual performance reports

Cabinet has accepted the performance reports for the period 1 April 2022 to 30 September 2022, according to Minister in the Presidency Mondli Gungubele.
In a press conference held on Friday in Pretoria, the Minister stated that in addition to documenting the biannual performance progress, the reports also give a midterm review of the priorities of the 2019-2024 Medium Term Strategic Framework.
According to these five clusters, the reports are compiled: -Justice, Crime Prevention, and Security; -Economic Sectors, Investment, Employment, and Infrastructure Development; -Social Protection, Community, and Human Development; -Governance, State Capacity, and Institutional Development; and -International Cooperation, Trade, and Security.
According to Gungubele, the reports give an examination of the major indicators of the seven adopted government priorities using data collected from departmental reports, statistics from Statistics South Africa, and academic studies. The data is analyzed in accordance with the National Development Plan: Vision 2030.

Cabinet applauded the extraordinary improvement recorded in a number of areas where performance exceeded expectations. However, it was concerned about the modest pace shown in some reports. Cabinet approved the proposed interventions to be implemented to expedite slow-moving regions.
Soon, the Department of Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation will host a roundtable discussion with the media to analyze these reports, he said.
