Wednesday marked the end of Quentin Grimes’ record of 14 consecutive starts due to an injured right ankle. Even though the second-year guard stated he was alright after landing awkwardly on Warriors guard Ty Jerome on Tuesday night, his condition worsened overnight, and he was held out of the game after a pregame examination.
Before the Knicks’ eight-game winning run was ended by the Raptors 113-106 at Madison Square Garden, head coach Tom Thibodeau said, “I don’t think it’s anything long-term.”

“I believe ‘Quick’ provided us with a very solid game. Really solid,” Thibodeau said. “He has also been playing well. Due to the manner in which he shoots the ball, we anticipated that he would eventually score. He does not hesitate. He is letting go of it.”
Thibodeau’s final selection was Isaiah Hartenstein over Mitchell Robinson. Robinson was struggling, but Thibodeau continued to play Hartenstein because he believed the group on the court was performing well.
