A woman was trampled by a camel that was “free-roaming” along a Sunshine Coast street in Queensland.
Saturday morning at approximately 10 a.m., a woman in her fifties was struck by a camel in Gympie, Queensland, causing her to sustain wrist injuries.
She was on Noosa Street in Mothar Mountain when she encountered the stray animal, which was believed to have been wandering alone.

It is unknown where the animal originated.
Three camels were sighted on the loose in northern Brisbane earlier this month, after escaping their cage during a church nativity scene.
The Bridgeman Baptist Community Church in Bridgeman Downs verified that the animals had strayed after surveillance footage captured them ambling along a major road, making traffic to stop.
A spokeswoman for the church informed Daily Mail Australia that the camels were part of their Christmas shows and were cared for by Camelot Camels, a local company that specializes in camel rides.
Melanie Fitzgibbon, the camels’ owner, stated that it took roughly 30 minutes to return the mischievous camels.
When her husband went to check on them, the dogs had opened the gate.
They were walking slightly ahead of us, but we knew where they were, so it was simply a matter of catching up with them; they’re fast travelers.
Ms. Fitzgibbon stated that the camels were returned safely.
She stated, “It was definitely something for the commuters to witness.”
The Bridgeman Baptist Community Church in Bridgeman Downs, northern Brisbane, reported the animals had walked off early this month. The trio was spotted strolling along the side of a road passing automobiles.
