In horrifying video, a young teenager viciously strikes a pregnant lady from behind as she walks with her two children.
Around 12:40 p.m. on Monday, the mother, 37, was strolling along a passageway in Smallman Place, Ashfield, with her two kids when the little girl came up from behind.
After creeping up on the mother in the laneway, the youngster is shown on CCTV yanking her aggressively by her hair down the concrete walkway.
The children were crying in terror as the terrified mother desperately fought to grip onto her pram, which suddenly tipped over as she was smashed to the ground.
Shortly after, police claimed to have apprehended the 15-year-old, who they said was the kid seen on camera trying to take the woman’s purse.
Video of her arrest shows her cursing at police while other family members sob in the background.
The woman, who is five months pregnant and fell onto her stomach, managed to escape the assault with just minor wounds and bruises, but police were concerned.
The teenager will show up in Geraldton Magistrates Court on September 13 after being charged with one count of robbery.
To aid in putting the assault together, police made the CCTV video of it public.
Crime Stoppers is asking anybody with pertinent information to get in touch.
Before the incident, a teenager could be seen following a small girl down the path on a scooter.
The second female was also detained, according to the police, as part of the first inquiry, but she was not prosecuted in connection with the assault.
