Arada awards two key contracts at Masaar

SHARJAH, 2nd March, 2022 – Arada has announced the award of two contracts together valued at AED118 million at Masaar, the AED8 billion richly forested megaproject located in the Suyoh district of Sharjah.

Work by both contractors on the central precinct of Masaar is scheduled to be completed at the end of April, in time for the opening of the Masaar Experience Center in June.

When finished, the space will include a children’s adventure playground, a skate park, an outdoor amphitheatre and Zad, the popular food district already present in Arada’s sister community Aljada.

In addition, the landscaped and forested precinct will also feature the hub for the 13-kilometre cycling network in Masaar, which contains rental, retail and repair facilities.

Work by the two contractors on the buffer zone, the border that runs around the outside of the community, is scheduled to be completed by the end of September.

Containing thousands of trees, the buffer zone will feature a two professional looped cycling and jogging tracks, each 6.

6 kilometres in length.

The awards are the latest in a series of contract wins at Masaar, which include the contracts to build the Masaar Experience Center and the show villa, as well as the infrastructure design contract, and the design and supervision services contract for the first residential phase of Masaar, Sendian District.

The main construction contract for Sendian District will be awarded in March.

With eight gated districts containing 4,000 villas and townhouses, Masaar’s signature feature is a ‘green spine’ containing 50,000 trees.

Launched in January 2021, Masaar is conveniently located near Tilal City, the Sharjah Mosque and Nasma Residences, Arada’s debut project.
