  • Apple AirTag and Unwanted Tracking

AirTag Apple’s latest innovation that lets users keep track of personal items like their keys, wallet, purse, backpack, luggage, and more through the Find My app was launched April 2021.

Since AirTag’s launch last April, users have written in to share countless stories of AirTag being instrumental in reuniting them with the things they value. Thanks to AirTag and the Find My app, a customer who lost his wallet on the subway was able to track it down at a station across town.

With the help of an AirTag placed inside a medical kit, a parent whose child lost critical medicine on the bus was later able to find it.

Concerning the unwanted tracking that AirTag enables, Apple says

“AirTag was designed to help people locate their personal belongings, not to track people or another person’s property, and we condemn in the strongest possible terms any malicious use of our products.

Unwanted tracking has long been a societal problem, and we took this concern seriously in the design of AirTag.

It’s why the Find My network is built with privacy in mind, uses end-to-end encryption, and why we innovated with the first-ever proactive system to alert you of unwanted tracking.

We hope this starts an industry trend for others to also provide these sorts of proactive warnings in their products.

We’ve become aware that individuals can receive unwanted tracking alerts for benign reasons, such as when borrowing someone’s keys with an AirTag attached, or when traveling in a car with a family member’s AirPods left inside.
We also have seen reports of bad actors attempting to misuse AirTag for malicious or criminal purposes.
Apple has been working closely with various safety groups and law enforcement agencies. Through our own evaluations and these discussions, we have identified even more ways we can update AirTag safety warnings and help guard against further unwanted tracking.”

Every AirTag has a unique serial number, and paired AirTags are associated with an Apple ID.

Apple can provide the paired account details in response to a subpoena or valid request from law enforcement.

We have successfully partnered with them on cases where information we provided has been used to trace an AirTag back to the perpetrator, who was then apprehended and charged.

  • The Racism In European Football Shows Itself Quickly In West Ham’s Kurt Zouma’s Case

Racism has always been present in European football (soccer) with many cases experienced in the near past both on field of play and outside of it.

Many great African players have been left out of the spotlight simply because of the color of their skin and many have been placed in the spotlight solely because of their undeniable skills.

The recent situation with Kurt Zouma kicking and slapping a cat for fun is really unfortunate and inhuman. However, the punishments metted out against the act are simply too much.

First his team West Ham football club fined him the highest amount possible. This kind of fine is reserved for the worst behavior by a player in the situation that the club is not willing to let such player go just yet.

But the club was fast to dose out such judgment in this case, it was like they have been waiting to slap with him with such judgment.

Then adidas withdrew their sponsorship with many such examples following their act. Adidas, the German footwear company with recent questionable act themself when they used numerous nude women in a public advert that children will obviously see (and which Twitter allowed although they have a ‘policy’ about partial nudity), used that as an opportunity to cut ties with the ‘equal’ French player.

We all know that many ‘White’ players have committed many questionable offenses, examples of which we don’t need to give in order not to ‘pour fuel into the burning fire’ here and now, and which have gone unpunished, with the few punished cases only due to the publicity such acts have gathered.

But it seemed the whole of Britain took this as the ‘end of the world’ with hundreds of thousands signing petitions against him.

Kurt Zouma cooperated with animal rights group, and the cats have been taken away from him.

  • All You Need To Know About Naira Card International Spending Limits For Nigerian Banks

Nigerian bank international spending limit on Naira cards

Naira depreciation in value and Naira to dollars exchange rate at the black market has also affected the allowance rates by banks that Nigerians can spend with their naira cards online.

Due to individuals doing money laundry with the echange rates, all Nigerian banks following CBN’s directive have reduced their monthly dollar exchange limits.

All banks now set their monthly limit to $100 or below.

This means that as a Nigerian debit card holder, you can only do an international transaction of up to 100$ in a month.

If you need to pay for something more than 100$, like buy something on Amazon or pay some charges, you will have to source your dollars from somewhere else, like buy from black market.

This is to help cub money laundry as some people have been known to buy dollars at cheap rate from banks and resell at higher rate to black market buyers.

As it’s constant in nature, there’s no free energy, something must go for something so those trying to get this “money in the air” are the ones that made this regulation become necessary, thereby making life harder for those trying to buy online or pay for services with their naira Mastercard.

If you must pay above $100, you can apply for domiciliary account and get dollars credit card. However you must source your own dollars to put in the account.

The limit for dollars card is $1500 and below per month.

    The $100 limit filter

This filter has completely removed the possibility of money laundry from the country.

For those who think Nigerian government hasn’t done anything right, they did this quite alright.
