Ex-boyfriend charged with Nambour murder

A young woman whose body was recovered in a forest had a “intimate” relationship with a man that ended shortly before his alleged murder.

The teenager, age 19, has been accused with murdering his ex-girlfriend, age 18, whose body was discovered in Nambour, Sunshine Coast, Queensland.

Saturday about 4.30 p.m., the woman and guy reportedly met at a parking lot for a sports oval in Strathpine, north of Brisbane, according to police.

When the woman did not return to her Petrie apartment by 7:00 p.m., her frightened relatives notified the authorities. Officers found the woman’s car in the parking lot of the sports reserve where she was last seen.

One hour later, the man was identified and detained near a BP petrol station in Nambour, one hour’s drive north of Strathpine.

One kilometer away and seven hours after his arrest, his ex-body girlfriend’s was discovered in the woods along Park Road.

Since then, a guy from the northern Brisbane suburb of Kallangur has been charged with murder and transportation of a body.

The authorities admitted that the couple was in a relationship up until a short time ago, but they were still investigating how long the relationship lasted.

“They recently ended a love connection,” said Detective Inspector Ben Fadian. “The young woman’s family has been notified, and they are heartbroken.”

There were no orders in force prohibiting domestic violence. And neither party has ever contacted authorities on a matter of this nature.’

The events surrounding their encounter are still being investigated.

Inspector Fadian discovered no evidence implicating any further suspects in the incident.

The young woman had her whole life ahead of her, he continued, describing the occurrence as horrible.

This has occurred to the good-natured young woman. It’s tragic.

The man’s bail request to appear in court in Maroochydore on Monday was denied.

The woman’s death remains under investigation.

Saturday between 6:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., police are asking anybody who saw a white 2016 Ford Mustang near Rob Ackers Sports Reserve on Bells Pocket Road in Strathpine or Park Road in Nambour to contact them.

Anyone who saw a blue 2012 Mazda 3 in the Rob Ackers Sports Reserve area between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. was also asked to call the police.

Sunday afternoon, the parking lot of the sports oval, the gas station, and the bushland where the corpse of the woman was discovered remained crime scenes.

The police confiscated both vehicles and other things from each of the three crime scenes for forensic analysis.

Residents of Nambour who lived in close proximity to the location where the woman’s body was discovered were astonished to learn what had occurred.

One resident told the Courier Mail that her dog began to bark around 11 p.m., with one dog focussing on the nearby bushland and creek.

She stated, “When I initially observed the police cruiser, I thought a vehicle had been abandoned.”

Another neighbor was awoken early on Sunday morning by police lights and found officers rummaging through her trash cans.

She claimed, “Numerous further police vehicles arrived, along with a huge truck and a floodlight that lighted the creek.”
