The goal of the crowdfunding campaign was £2,000 when it was launched.
This was then increased to £3,000, with any surplus funds used to pay for demonstrators’ transportation and meals.
Yesterday, 40 donors contributed a total of £2,776, with one giving £314.
The ‘Northern Just Stop Oil Supporters’ plea was created by the ‘Banana Bread’ organization.
It stated, ‘We are attempting to raise funds so that Just Stop Oil campaign supporters who are dedicated to take action in October 2022 have a suitable location to stay.
It costs around $150 per week to shelter a person engaged in civil resistance activity.
“The North is anxious to participate in full force, but we are having trouble finding the finances to furnish ourselves with lodging.
‘By donating to this GoFundMe, you are directly assisting another individual engaged to civil resistance.
Across London, a variety of rallies by the activists have caused significant disturbance.

Just Stop Oil stated that any surplus funds will be deposited with the organization’s central fund.
Their efforts are our best opportunity to maintain a habitable world for everyone.

A later modification read: “Wow! Thank you to everybody who have contributed thus far.
We reached our initial fundraising goal of $2,000 in less than 12 hours.
“We now have the funds to reserve ONE hotel, but we’d want to try for another, so we’ve increased our target to $3,000.”
‘Any additional funds will be added to the action teams’ float funds and utilized for meals and transportation to the action areas.
All remaining funds will be sent to the Just Stop Oil central fund after the action has been finished.
