In a recent documentary, the pool boy from a posh Miami hotel who had an affair with Becki Falwell, the wife of disgraced former Liberty University leader Jerry Falwell Jr., revealed that the pair enjoyed filming their sexual encounters.
As a pool attendant, I frequently received advances from women. However, Giancarlo Granda claims that he would have declined the woman’s invitation to visit her hotel room if he had known that doing so would have resulted in a scandal involving the president of the largest Christian university in the world and the president of the United States.
Granda made the remarks at the beginning of God Forbid: The Sex Scandal That Brought Down a Dynasty, a new Hulu documentary about the Falwells’ lives.
Seven years after meeting the Falwells for the first time in the fabled Miami pool, the documentary focuses on Granda as he relates his side of the tale.
Although they present a professional front, Granda claims that they are really freaks. “They could make me vanish if they chose to.”
Falwell Jr., according to Granda, “loved to videotape his wife having sex with me.” In the teaser for the documentary that will be broadcast next month, he says, “I know the truth about them, and the entire world is going to find out.”
He went so far as to say that they had become a “throuple,” which is a polyamorous pair that includes a third person in their relationship.
In 2012, when Granda was 20 years old, he first met the Falwells and started dating Becki, who was 44 at the time.
Granda said that while Falwell Jr. was there, he had an affair with Becki. He claims that the Falwells “groomed” him.
Becki and Falwell Jr. both said that Granda was never engaged and charged Granda with attempting to blackmail them.

The Falwells refused to answer any questions concerning the incident, therefore they were not included in the documentary that will be published on November 1.
Following Granda’s admissions on the protracted relationship, Jerry’s tenure as president of Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, came to an end last year.
The Falwells, however, revealed to Vanity Fair in January of this year that they had moved on.

In the Vanity Fair interview, Jerry, 57, acknowledged having once walked in on Becki and Granda having sex in bed and claimed to have been “traumatized” by the experience.

They signed a contract in which the Falwells agreed to help Granda with his hotel company. When asked by Vanity Fair why they had kept funding it to the tune of $1.8 million after their reportedly deteriorating relationship, Jerry said that it had been a chance for business too excellent to pass up.
In 2020, Jerry, one of the most prominent right-wing Christian leaders in the United States, revealed his wife’s adultery.
He said that the pair decided to go public with their romance because the pool boy had been extorting money from them for years to keep it a secret.
“Jerry would fear that word of my affair would get out every morning.” We did, both of us,” Becki recounted. It is very awful to have such control over you.
Jerry claims that Granda came up with an extortion scheme and wanted $2 million to keep the relationship a secret.
Jerry said that the “threatening conduct” left him with “trauma” and had significantly impacted him as he sought to govern Liberty University when he made the affair public two years ago.
When Jerry stated it, “It was like living on a roller coaster.” While fully devoting ourselves to Liberty, we also endured silent anguish during our private time together while attempting to control and cope with this ever-more-dangerous conduct, which only became worse with time.

He said that the connection started while he was giving the institution too much of his attention after being named its president in the wake of his father’s death in 2007. He said that throughout that time in his life, he was not spending enough time with Becki.
In 2020, he stated, “I was not engaged in Becki having an improper personal contact with this individual, but it was incredibly distressing to hear about.
Becki now asserts that the couple has overcome the difficulties brought on by the affair and that they are both very appreciative of their marriage.
She told Vanity Fair, “We are together more than any couple you will ever meet in your life.” He forgave me, and Jesus preaches forgiveness, he said.
