  • “That is so Raven” Alumnus Again, Orlando Brown is Arrested for Domestic Violence

Orlando Brown has once again found himself in trouble. Thursday (Dec. 22) in Ohio, the That’s So Raven alum was arrested for misdemeanor domestic assault.

A fight was reported in Lima, Ohio, where Brown supposedly resided for more than a month. While it is unknown who phoned 911, cops informed TMZ that the altercation occurred between Brown and either a family member or another resident of the residence. His online detention record cites the charge as “domestic violence – induce belief of imminent physical injury by threat of force,” according to the news source.

This is not the first time that the actor has been in trouble with the authorities. Brown was charged with domestic assault, obstruction of justice, and drug possession in February 2016 following a public argument with his then-girlfriend.

A few months later, a video of bounty hunters apprehending Brown, who had failed to appear in court and escaped to Nevada, went viral. He was ultimately discovered hiding in his undies in a private residence.

Later that same year, he was jailed for breaking into a boyhood friend’s Las Vegas restaurant and attempting to change the locks.

In 2018, Brown appeared on Dr. Phil, where he discussed his drug and mental health difficulties in an intervention-style discussion. However, it was more remarkable when the former Disney actor forgot how many children he had (and their ages) and claimed to be Michael Jackson’s son.

In a conversation with Cam Capone, Brown reflected on his experience on the show earlier this year and thanked the doctor for “opening the door for those who believe they don’t need treatment to seek it.”

He said that he had been “on the run” since the infamous interview and stated, “At this point, I’m just waiting to die. But I do have realistic ambitions.”

  • LaNisha Cole provides an update on co-parenting after seemingly disparaging Nick Cannon

    No harsh feelings!

LaNisha Cole and Nick Cannon appear to have reconciled just days after she appeared to disparage the actor’s “false picture ops” with his several children and their mothers.

The 40-year-old model captioned an Instagram Story video of the 42-year-old “Masked Singer” presenter cradling their 3-month-old daughter, Onyx, at her “first class,” “Co-parenting is a breeze when you see eye to eye.”

Cole wrote, “It’s all about this one, our Onyx.” “Teamwork is the key to success”

In addition, the “Price is Right” star provided a “interesting fact” about the child’s September birth.

“In the delivery room, Nick was playing ‘Isn’t She Lovely’ by Stevie Wonder to welcome Onyx into the world,” she remembered. “Every time I hear this song, my heart smiles. It will always be wonderful.” It is her music.”

Cannon did not announce publicly that he was having a child with Cole before to her delivery.

“I pray and urge others to please project all criticism and cynicism onto ME and not the lovely and precious Mothers of my children,” the “Wild ‘N Out” host, who has welcomed 10 other children with five other women and is expecting his 12th any day now, wrote on Instagram at the time.

She elaborated, “Yes, I’ve subjected myself to unnecessary suffering and heartache (something we’ve all done in the name of love. You should!) However, calling me baby mommy number 538 every time I remark the sky is blue is unwarranted and getting old.”

Bre Tiesi, who shares Cannon’s 5-month-old son Legendary, defended Cole via Instagram Stories on Thursday.

Cole appeared to criticize Cannon’s “false photo opportunities” with his 10 other children and their mothers. Monroe and Moroccan are Cannon and Mariah Carey’s (seen) twins.

“She’s suffering, she’s overwhelmed, and I’m sure she’s learning how to digest and move through this while maintaining her composure,” the 31-year-old star of “Selling Sunset” added. Not everyone has thick skin, and everyone handles stress in a unique manner.

Tiesi stated that she “embraces” Mariah Carey, Brittany Bell, Abby De La Rosa, and Alyssa Scott, the mothers of Legendary’s brothers.

She wrote, “I have respect for all ladies involved.”

  • Christina Applegate employs humor to ‘deflect’ from her ‘very difficult’ MS struggle

Christina Applegate states that she utilizes dark humor to cope with her “very difficult” MS diagnosis.

Applegate remarked on Friday’s episode of “The Kelly Clarkson Show”: “My humor shield keeps me okay, but of course, on the insides, you feel the things, and I do it to sort of deflect and also make people not be terrified to be around me.”

She said, “You know, I want people to feel at ease when they see me as a disabled person. That we are able to joke about it”

As an illustration, Applegate said that she wrote a humorous Christmas song titled “Disabey Baby” about her Multiple Sclerosis, with the following lyrics: “Hurry down the chimney tonight. Because my wheelchair will not fit down it.”

The 51-year-old “Dead To Me” actress acknowledged that despite the obstacles she was facing, she was determined to complete the Netflix series

She added, “After being diagnosed with MS last year and experiencing what it did to my body, mind, spirit, and everything else, of course I didn’t want to be around anyone or discuss it, but I had to go to work.”

She noted that she was not “forced” to go to work, but was aware that the program had to be completed.

It felt like a member of my family. Everyone there, including Linda Cartalini and Liz Feldman, is my family,” she remarked. “There is a story that we were unable to complete. And I worked as hard as I could to get through it, so it was quite challenging.”

After completing the series, Applegate took a short break before reentering the limelight.

She remarked, “I went to sleep for a few months, and then all of a sudden I had to get up and be this person.” People had viewed me as a different person for nearly forty years, and now that I’m different, it’s really difficult.

In August of 2021, the “View from the Top” actress disclosed that she had been diagnosed with MS. She did not make her first public appearance after breaking the news until November 2022. She attended her Hollywood Walk of Fame event with bare feet for comfort and a “fu MS” manicure.

Despite her health issues, the actress was eager to complete production on “Dead To Me.”

Applegate has been able to turn to her close friend and “The Sweetest Thing” co-star Selma Blair, who also has MS, during her MS challenges.

Applegate acknowledged that her appearance in “Dead To Me” could be her final performance, despite her resiliency and extraordinary support system.

  • The Mets’ internal perspective on their evolution into a giant

Brandon Nimmo is the only member of the Mets’ star-studded Opening Day roster in Miami on March 30 capable of comprehending how far this organization has come.

Now the Mets’ player with the longest tenure, Nimmo joined the club in the summer of 2011. The Mets spent $17.8 million on free agents Frank Francisco, Jon Rauch, Ronny Cedeno, and Scott Hairston, lost Jose Reyes to the Marlins, and reduced their budget by $50 million over the following summer.

After Nimmo’s major league debut and the Mets’ loss in the NL wild-card game, the offseason occurred five years later. Yoenis Cespedes was re-signed to a four-year, $110 million contract, the second-largest free-agent contract in organization history at the time, while Neil Walker, Jerry Blevins, and Fernando Salas were all brought back.

Now? The Mets inhabit an entirely separate universe.

Brandon Nimmo converses with Mets general manager Billy Eppler and agent Scott Boras (left) after signing a new $162 million contract with the 2011 draft team.

Nimmo’s eight-year, $162 million contract is part of Steve Cohen’s offseason spending spree, which has totaled $807.16 million on 10 free players, with Carlos Correa’s 12-year, $330 million contract on Wednesday representing the most recent nine-figure investment.

Nimmo said last week, when the Mets believed they had missed out on Correa to the Giants, “It’s been eye-opening.” It has been crazy and a bit odd to experience.”

Nimmo stated that the makeover guided by Cohen has included enhancements to the club’s sports science team, analytics staff, and an abundance of other services that players may utilize.

Buck Showalter has observed a shift in the Mets’ standing within the league.

“It’s been a significant difference,” he added.

Obviously, fixing these sometimes neglected sectors can also help attract players to Queens. In the end, though, Cohen’s money speaks. And top free agents and their representatives, like Scott Boras, who represents Nimmo and Correa, are now responding.

“It’s really simple to find someone to answer our calls,” manager Buck Showalter stated. It may not have been that way previously.

Consider Boras, one of the game’s most influential characters. Last week, the Mets made a last-ditch effort to sign Correa, but Boras had already reached an agreement with the Giants. Then, when the sale struck a halt on Tuesday due to a difference with his medical exam, Boras — who had lately referred to Cohen as “Steve Kong” — contacted Cohen, who was on vacation in Hawaii and enjoying dinner and a martini.

The Mets came up with $315 million on short notice to lure All-Star shortstop Carlos Correa to Queens, where he will play third base.

“Do you have three olives for an outstanding third baseman?” Cohen was asked by Boras.

They had reached an accord hours later.

The Mets’ salary, the expectations surrounding them, and the target on their backs all increased simultaneously.

Certainly, preseason success does not ensure success during the regular season. Was anyone praising the Red Sox, Nationals, Dodgers, Braves, and Astros for their various victories during the prior five offseasons? All of them ultimately won the World Series.

In a perfect world, Cohen would not need to spend more than $800 million in a single summer. However, the Mets had 13 free agents from their 40-man roster from the previous season, which necessitated either re-signing or replacing them at a time when the organization lacked talent at the highest levels of its farm system while attempting to field a true title contender in 2023.

So Cohen spent. The players in his organization, particularly those who have been with the team for a while, recognized his unwavering commitment to victory.

Nimmo stated, “I am extremely delighted to be a part of this group.” “Steve and Alex [Cohen] have made it abundantly apparent that they will do whatever it takes to make this club consistently successful and ultimately win the World Series.”

    Lineup luxuries

Next season, Showalter will construct a juggernaut lineup for 162 games, making his job even more enjoyable.

When healthy in 2022, the Mets’ top four hitters were Nimmo, Starling Marte, Francisco Lindor, and Pete Alonso. This lineup was relatively steady. In the second half, the bottom of the order was often filled by a mix of Daniel Vogelbach, Jeff McNeil, Mark Canha, Eduardo Escobar, and a catcher.

    Where then does Correa fit?

In the 2017 World Baseball Classic, Francisco Lindor (right) and Carlos Correa shared the left side of the infield and batted 1-2 for Puerto Rico.

Lindor hit second and Correa hit third the last time they played on the same team, for Puerto Rico in the 2017 World Baseball Classic. That might be the correct order for the Mets in 2023, although Showalter could exchange Correa and Alonso and place Lindor between them in the three-hole so that they are not batting right-handed. That would look like:

    1. CF Nimmo (L)
    2. third baseman Correa (R)
    3. SS Lindor (S)
    4. 1B Alonso (R)
    5. 2B McNeil (L)
    6. RF Marte (R)
    7. DH Vogelbach (L)
    8. LF Canha (R)
    9. C Narvaez (L)

Against left-handed pitchers, Eduardo Escobar (or another right-handed hitter if Escobar is traded) and Tomas Nido will replace Vogelbach and Narvaez, respectively.

FanGraphs estimates that the Mets’ lineup will amass 34.4 WAR, second only to the Padres (35.9).

The Mets’ two excellent infield prospects, Brett Baty and Ronny Mauricio, are placed in jeopardy by the acquisition of Correa.

Baty, 23 years old, had a taste of third base last season and had his moments before breaking a ligament in his thumb, which necessitated surgery and ended his season early. Now, Correa will block his path to third base for the next twelve years.

During the previous two seasons in the minors, Baty had begun to play some left field, which could be an option for him in the future with the Mets (in addition to DH at-bats). However, it may be more likely to become trade bait.

Ronny Mauricio, a Mets prospect who was primarily a shortstop in the minors, played some third base during the winter league.

In 41 games for Tigres del Licey, the 21-year-old Mauricio hit.283 with a.803 OPS, five home runs, and 10 steals, and was named MVP of the Dominican Winter League. After spending the entirety of the 2022 regular season at shortstop for Double-A Binghamton — he had played only at shortstop or designated hitter since joining the Mets organization — it was remarkable that Mauricio played nine games at third base this winter.

It has been assumed that Mauricio would have to switch positions in order to play for the Mets, as Francisco Lindor is anchored at shortstop for the next nine seasons. However, it now appears that third base is also out of the question for Mauricio, putting him in the same scenario as Baty.

There is no urgency for general manager Billy Eppler to deal either prospect. It is a luxury to have Baty and/or Mauricio as depth alternatives, as injuries are unavoidable. Naturally, they could also become more desirable trade assets by the 2023 trade deadline, particularly if Shohei Ohtani becomes available.

The Minister of Human Settlements and Infrastructure Development, Lebogang Maile, visited Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital on Friday following the theft of a 10-meter copper pipe that provides water to two general surgery theatresMEC Lebogang Maile examines hospital damage at Bara.

Wednesday’s flood exacerbated the hospital’s precarious condition, as water poured through the leaking roof and into the building.

Copper pipes from a plant room provided water to two high-pressure general surgery operating rooms, which jeopardized the cooling system of the operating rooms.

The Gauteng Department of Health believes that this was an act of sabotage from within and has expressed worry about the safety of patients.

This occurred after the hospital restored the oxygen-supply pipes that were taken from the intensive care unit (ICU).

Maile stated, “Interim measures have been implemented so that patients may receive oxygen, but a permanent pipe will be installed in January.”

He stated that investigations are continuing, and if it is determined that an employee is responsible for this act of sabotage, they would be punished accordingly.

Dr. Nkele Lesia, the chief executive officer of Baragwanath Hospital, stated, “They could not have gained entry without assistance from someone inside.” Because this is a matter of life and death, it is extremely disturbing that hospital employees are capable of harboring such nefarious ideas and would sabotage services to this extent. All the patients may have perished, but to what end and at what expense? “Whoever took this 10-meter pipe knew precisely where it was and how it was attached.”

Copper cable was stolen from Baragwanath Hospital, although administration does not believe stealing was the purpose. The pipe locations were not easily accessible.
