  • Maryland mother gets five years in jail for two-month-old son’s fenantyl death

The mother whose two-month-old kid was killed by the lethal and addictive narcotic fentanyl has been sentenced to five years in prison.

Heather Marie Farzier will serve five years in prison and five years on supervised probation after pleading guilty to a charge of involuntary manslaughterJeremy Whitney Frazier, 35, plead guilty to involuntary manslaughter in March and was sentenced to five years in prison with five years of supervised probation after the death of his son
In 2020, Heather Marie Frazier, age 35, was charged with involuntary manslaughter in connection with her son Grayson’s murder.

After pleading guilty in August, she will serve five years in prison and five years on probation following her release.

On July 3, 2020, medical personnel were dispatched to a residence in Walden Way, Maryland, following reports that a newborn had suffered cardiac arrest.

After pleading guilty to a charge of involuntary manslaughter, Heather Marie Farzier will serve five years in jail and five years on supervised probation.

After the murder of his kid, Jeremy Whitney Frazier, 35, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in March and was sentenced to five years in prison and five years of supervised probation.

Later, Grayson was declared deceased at the Frederick Health Hospital.

The death of the youngster was judged a homicide after a thorough autopsy revealed that fentanyl intoxication was the cause of death.

Heather and Jeremy Frazier, both 34 years old, were identified as suspects in the infant’s killing by Frederick County investigators.

In interviews with the suspects and their relatives, it was revealed that the pair mixed the lethal medication in the same bathroom where they prepared their son’s medicine.

State’s Attorney Charlie Smith stated regarding the case, “This is a heartbreaking case where drug addiction has devastated a valuable young life, and the parents are now facing the consequences of their reckless actions.”

In March, Jeremy Whitney Frazier, 35, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and was sentenced to five years in prison followed by five years of probation.

Why is fentanyl so harmful, and what is it?

Fentanyl was initially created in Belgium in the 1950s as a painkiller for cancer sufferers.

Due to its high potency, it has gained popularity among recreational drug users.

The number of fatal overdoses caused by synthetic opioids such as fentanyl increased from nearly 10,000 in 2015 to nearly 20,000 in 2016, surpassing those caused by traditional opioid medicines and heroin for the first time.

And more than 72,000 Americans died from opioid overdoses in 2017 – a record fuelled by fentanyl.

It is frequently added to heroin since its biological effects are identical to those of heroin. US experts estimate that fentanyl is up to fifty times more powerful than heroin.

In the United States, fentanyl is categorized as a schedule II substance, which indicates that it has a high potential for abuse and can cause psychological and physical dependence.

  • Matshela Koko reviews the Zondo report

Matshela Koko, the former head of Eskom, has filed an appeal with the Johannesburg High Court to have certain findings against him in the State Capture report by Chief Justice Raymond Zondo reviewed and overturned.

Zondo determined that a pervasive culture of corruption, mismanagement, and malfeasance “had been fostered within Eskom by executives and board members since 2014” and recommended that the former executives, including Koko, Brian Molefe, and Anoj Singh, be criminally charged for facilitating the capture of the state-owned power utility.

According to Zondo, Koko and his co-accused failed to “perform their fiduciary responsibilities and avert financial harm” at Eskom.

Koko and his co-accused are suspected of facilitating the infamous Gupta family’s acquisition of Optimum Coal Mine using funds from the state’s power company. The Guptas allegedly received an R659 million payment and an R1.68 billion guarantee from Eskom in 2015.

In his affidavit, Koko claimed that the State Capture investigation led by Zondo reached conclusions that were not supported by facts, noting that he testified nine times and submitted seven affidavits that were disregarded by the commission when it reached its conclusions.

“The commission decided that Eskom officials and I utilized our positions of authority and power within Eskom to benefit the Gupta enterprise,” the affidavit states. That Brian Molefe, Anoj Singh, and I benefitted in various ways from the Guptas and Mr. Salim Essa, which may have constituted the crime of corruption.

“Regrettably… The State Capture report contains findings, observations, and conclusions that are not rationally connected to the information presented to the panel.

According to Koko, the panel failed to consider “important facts and interrogate critical persons” implicated in the breach of Eskom. Had the commission interrogated “these persons,” the commission’s story would have been damaged.

“Interviewing these individuals would have undermined the commission’s case against me,” he stated.

Koko argues that the commission’s acceptance of specific witnesses’ testimony implicates him as a common cause, notwithstanding the inaccuracy of this approach.

“The commission failed to conduct a proper investigation as mandated by the judicial commission, functioning fairly within its terms and responsibilities. My position is that the commission failed to conduct its investigations in accordance with the law.”

The former head of Eskom, who is suspected of corruption, has also disputed charges that he benefitted from the Guptas. Between December 2015 and January 2016, Essa and the Guptas allegedly paid for his family’s travel to Bali and Dubai.

Koko maintains that the allegations lacked a coherent connection to the facts presented to the commission.

“In 2017, the media claimed that I was in Dubai in December 2015 on the dime of the Guptas.

“Despite the undisputed evidence shown to the panel that my wife paid for the travel and that I paid directly for the lodging at the Oberoi Hotel, the commission determined that I profited from the Guptas and/or Mr. Salim Essa. This conclusion is absurd and illogical. It must be put aside.

“The commission disregarded the evidence. “Koko was the target of a witch hunt,” he added.

I took the unusual step of requesting a review of the State Capture Report. The judge was biased. The findings, opinions, and conclusions contained in his reports are unrelated to the evidence presented to him.

  • Damien Bendall was able to murder his partner and three children because of “probation service errors.”

The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) has announced that a formal investigation will be conducted into how probation officers dealt with the case of Killamarsh offender Damien Bendall before he murdered three children and his pregnant partner.

In September 2021, Damien Bendall used a claw hammer to murder 35-year-old Terri Harris, her 11-year-old daughter Lacey Bennett, her son John Paul Bennett, 13, and Lacey's friend Connie Gent, 11

After the ex-convict was given a life sentence for the killings on Wednesday, Deputy Prime Minister Dominic Raab urged the Chief Inspector of Probation to review Bendall’s court documents.

Bendall, 32, was already on probation for crimes of arson, robbery, attempted robbery, and serious bodily harm.

He was serving a 24-month suspended sentence for arson at the time he committed the murders.Lacey Bennett, 11, (left), John, 13, (right), and their mother Terri Harris, 35, were murdered by Bendall in the sickening rampage

According to the Daily Telegraph, the probation officer who evaluated his criminal history for sentencing purposes in the arson case has since been fired.

Damien Bendall murdered Terri Harris, 35, her 11-year-old daughter Lacey Bennett, her 13-year-old son John Paul Bennett, and Lacey’s 11-year-old friend Connie Gent in September 2021 with a claw hammer.

According to the newspaper, the probation officer was found guilty of gross misconduct for incorrectly classifying Bendall as’medium risk’ rather than ‘high risk.’

According to the study, he spent a significant amount of time working from home and hence did not receive the typical possibilities for advise from coworkers.

A second probation officer was also found guilty of misconduct for assigning Bendall’s case to a trainee afterward.

In September 2021, Bendall murdered 35-year-old Terri Harris, her 11-year-old daughter Lacey Bennett, her 13-year-old son John Paul Bennett, and Lacey’s 11-year-old friend Connie Gent with a claw hammer.

Bendall also acknowledged to committing a rape on Lacey during the incident, which occurred in the Killamarsh, Derbyshire property he shared with Ms Harris.

A Ministry of Justice official stated, “These were heinous atrocities, and our condolences are with the victims’ families.”Connie Gent, 11, was murdered by drug addict Damien Bendall in Killamarsh last year

The Deputy Prime Minister has requested that the Chief Inspector of Probation conduct a review of this matter, and we will provide a further response once the results are made public.

Sir Robert Buckland, the former justice secretary who resigned just three days before the Killamarsh murders, termed Bendall’s misclassification as a low-risk offender a “appalling failure.”

He stated, “I believe we must accept that such a mistake is an appalling failure.”

“The ministry must be as open and honest as possible regarding the cause of the incident, and ensure that the chance of it happening again is minimized, if not eliminated.”

Before this type of basic error may be made, there ought to be procedures in place to ensure that certain thresholds and checks are satisfied.

The review by the Chief Inspector of Probation is likely to be published in the new year.

  • CCTV footage shows Putin’s thugs searching a Ukrainian orphanage seeking children to abduct and convert into soldiers

CCTV footage reveals that Russian FSB agents and armed soldiers have infiltrated a Ukrainian orphanage in order to abduct children and send them to Moscow.

Russian FSB agents and armed soldiers have prowled a Ukrainian orphanage to abduct children and send then to Moscow, chilling CCTV footage showsRussian FSB agents and armed soldiers have prowled a Ukrainian orphanage to abduct children and send then to Moscow, chilling CCTV footage shows
According to Ukrainian intelligence, 13,000 orphans as young as babies have been kidnapped and sent to Russia, where they are indoctrinated with pro-Kremlin propaganda about the war.

Volodymyr Sahaidak is the director of an orphanage near Kherson, a region that was formerly under Russian control until a spectacular Ukrainian counteroffensive compelled the Russians to withdraw.

When he realized that Putin’s thugs were advancing, he sent the 52 orphans in his care to local families who took them in despite the risk of being arrested or killed.

CCTV footage reveals that Russian FSB operatives and armed soldiers raided a Ukrainian orphanage to kidnap and transport children to Moscow.

The Russian operatives and armed fighters examined the orphanage’s files and computers in search of information on where the fugitives were hiding, as captured on the orphanage’s surveillance camera.

Mr. Sahaidak told Sky News, “We heard Russian propagandists suggest that orphans must be taken to military schools, indoctrinated, and allowed to fight for Russia.”

CCTV footage at the orphanage then shows the Russian agents and fighters armed with rifles arriving to find it completely empty

“It was the most terrifying thing, therefore we began concealing children because we knew they would take them,”

Local households took in up to four orphans apiece to protect them during the Russian takeover, and the invading army never discovered them.

Mr. Sahaidak stated, “It appeared that if I did not hide my children, they would be taken from me.”Local families took in as many as four orphans each to keep them safe during the Russian occupationLocal families took in as many as four orphans each to keep them safe during the Russian occupation

The orphanage was completely vacant when Russian agents and armed militants with firearms arrived, as seen by surveillance camera.

During the Russian occupation, local families took in as many as four orphans each to ensure their safety.

However, now that the orphanage was on Russian soil, Vladimir Putin’s men brought 15 children taken in other parts of Ukraine there before bringing them back to Russia when they were forced to retreat.

Oxana, a teacher at the orphanage, stated that troops armed with machine rifles loaded the terrified children into military vehicles.

Natalya Kadyrova, who lives near another orphanage in Kherson, reported seeing children as young as three forcibly removed from their safe haven, despite the fact that the abduction of children is a major breach of the rules of war.Hospital staff take care of orphaned children at the children's regional hospital maternity ward in Kherson, southern Ukraine

The Ukrainian prosecutor’s office reported that 48 orphans between the ages of three and five were abducted from an orphanage in Kherson and launched an inquiry involving their secret service.

Within hours of Putin’s brutal February invasion, the staff at a children’s hospital in the south began plotting in secret how to save the infants.

In Kherson, southern Ukraine, orphaned children are cared for in the maternity ward of the provincial children’s hospital.

During the course of the conflict in Ukraine, Russian authorities have been accused of deporting Ukrainian children to Russia or Russian-controlled territory to be raised as their own.hroughout the war in Ukraine, Russian authorities have been accused of deporting Ukrainian children to Russia or Russian-held territories to raise them as their own

Caregivers at a regional children’s hospital in Kherson began falsifying orphans’ medical records to make it appear as though they were bedridden.

Dr. Olga Pilyarska, the chief of intensive care, stated, “We intentionally wrote false information that the children were ill and unable to be transported.”

We feared that the Russians would discover our secret, but we resolved to save the children at whatever cost.

The majority of the abducted youngsters remain unaccounted for.Toys and a doll lay on the floor of a playhouse in the courtyard of Kherson regional children's home in Kherson

At the hospital in Kherson, 11 abandoned infants were diagnosed with fictitious illnesses so they wouldn’t have to be transferred to an orphanage where they would be given Russian documents and possibly taken away.

According to Pilyarska, one infant suffered ‘pulmonary bleeding,’ another had ‘uncontrollable convulsions,’ and a third required ‘artificial ventilation.’

A playhouse in the courtyard of the Kherson regional children’s home is filled with toys and a doll.

It was revealed earlier this year that Russia is attempting to place hundreds of Ukrainian children for foster care or adoption with Russian families.

Officials illegally transferred Ukrainian children to Russia or Russian-held territory, lied to them that their parents did not want them, exploited them for propaganda, and gave them Russian citizenship and families.

The Institute for the Study of War, a think group in Washington, asserts that Russian officials are executing a purposeful depopulation campaign in occupied regions of Ukraine and deporting youngsters under the cover of medical rehabilitation and adoption programs.

The purpose of transporting children to Russia, according to Russian authorities, is to shield them from hostilities.

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has denied reports that the country is detaining and expelling children.

It is asserted that officials are hunting for relatives of orphaned children still living in Ukraine in order to discover possibilities to send them home whenever possible.

In October, Volodymyr Zelensky asserted that more than 1.6 million Ukrainian people had been deported during the war, with many having been stripped of their documentation and dispersed across Russia. He stated, “They are stealing people.”
