  • Eight females have been charged with the murder of a Toronto man. “You think you’ve seen it all.”

Tuesday, Toronto police said that eight teenage females who allegedly connected on social media have been charged with second-degree murder in the stabbing death of a 59-year-old man.

Investigators allege that the girls assaulted and stabbed the victim early Sunday morning in downtown Toronto. According to police, medical personnel transported the man to a hospital, where he died.

According to the police, the eight girls were apprehended near the scene of the crime. Three of the girls are 13, three are 14, and two are 16 years old.

Detective Sergeant Terry Browne of the Toronto Police Service Homicide Squad stated that they believe the females attempted to steal an alcoholic beverage from the victim.

“I’ve been in law enforcement for about 35 years, and you think you’ve seen everything,” Browne told The Associated Press. “Anyone who isn’t astonished to hear something like this has obviously given up and conceded that anything is possible in this world. The majority of the eight females are under the age of 16. If this is not scary and surprising to everyone, then simply we’re all in trouble.”

Browne reported that the same girls were involved in an altercation in the vicinity earlier in the evening. He declined to provide additional information.

“They were acquainted over social media. They hail from various city neighborhoods “Browne said. “We do not know how or why they met that evening, nor why they chose downtown Toronto as their destination. We do not know how long they have known one another. I would not call them a gang at this time.”

YouTube video of @TorontoPolice Homicide #68/2022 News Conference | D/Sgt Terry Browne | Tuesday, December 20, 2022 by Toronto Police Service.

Browne stated that they participated in a “swarming.” He refused to disclose whether it was videotaped. He stated that they will examine the Internet for similar attacks.

“Perhaps these eight young women were attempting to establish a name for themselves and get social notoriety,” he said.

The police believe they all conspired.

He stated, “They are all equally responsible.” When they opted to attack this man, there is no doubt in our minds that they were acting as a single entity with a swarming mob mentality.

He stated that a number of firearms were confiscated, but he declined to specify the types. He also stated that three of the girls had prior interactions with law enforcement.

“It’s strange that they all connected and made their way to downtown Toronto together. Their principal dwellings are dispersed “he said.

Browne stated that police met with the teens’ parents.

“I can assure you that it was a shock to learn that their children were part in such an event,” he said.

By law, Canadian officials cannot divulge the girls’ names since they are minors.

They have had their initial court appearance and are still detained. The next court date is December 29.

In September, according to Browne, the victim began residing in Toronto’s shelter system. He stated that unless they are able to contact some family members, they will not divulge his name.

“I would not necessarily call him homeless because he has a very supportive family in the vicinity. Possibly recently had some bad luck “he said.

Browne stated that anyone who spotted the group of kids that evening should notify police.

He stated that 20 or 30 years ago in Toronto, young teenage guys would swarm others and attempt to steal Dr. Martens boots or Air Jordan shoes, but that this practice has now died out.

“Has this occurred recently and we are unaware? Have people been posting this content online without our knowledge? “he said. It is something that we will attempt to determine.

According to government statistics, girls commit a minority of crimes in Canada, whereas boys are twice as likely to participate in aggressive activity.

The Toronto Police Service has reported that there have been 68 homicides this year, a 16% decrease from last year. In 2022, there have been 17 stabbing-related deaths in the city, a 13.3% rise over 2021.

The event occurred just days after a Toronto suburb resident fatally murdered five people in his condominium complex, including three board members.

AFP contributed to the creation of this report.

  • BLACK FOREST CAKE RECIPE

Cake has been a staple in many cultures for centuries, and its popularity shows no signs of waning. There are a lot of different options to test, so you should bake a classic that everyone loves. Moist and rich, black forest cake combines many flavours in one bite and pairs well with a steaming cup of coffee.

    BLACK FOREST CAKE TIPS

Kirsch, a brandy distilled from dark, sweet morello cherries, is called for in this recipe. When you take a slice of this cake, you’ll get the ideal amount of moistness and flavour since the liquid seeps right into the cake. Xanthum gum or maize starch may be used to help stabilise the whipped cream and prevent it from sliding off the plate. Feel free to top with more cream and macerated cherries if desired. Thicker pieces of this cake plus a steaming cup of your favourite beverage are the perfect combination.

This rich black forest cake is the kind of classic dessert that is perfect for the holidays. It has the right amount of sugar and fat to make you feel like you’re celebrating the holidays.

  • Married’sexual predator’ police sergeant AVOIDS prison by claiming he has PTSD due to his profession

A police officer who inappropriately touched two coworkers while intoxicated at a Christmas party has spared jail time but has been had to sign the Sexual Offender Register.Duggan was sentenced to a 32-week suspended sentence after admitting two counts of sexual assault against two female police officers

Last year, while celebrating the holiday season in a nightclub in Chester, Gareth Duggan, 38, grabbed the buttocks of one cop and put his hand under the dress of another officer.

When the victims reported the occurrence, they were suspected of fabricating the claims to obtain a promotion, despite the rumored predator’s reputation.

Warrington Magistrates’ Court sentenced Duggan to a 32-week suspended sentence, 200 hours of unpaid labour, and 35 days of rehabilitative activities after he admitted to two counts of sexual assault.

Duggan was given a suspended 32-week sentence after pleading guilty to two charges of sexual assault against two female police officers.

Duggan served as a police officer for more than 15 years, but he is set to resign prior to a January misconduct meeting.

In addition, he must sign the Sexual Offender Register for seven years and compensate each victim with £1,000.Duggan had been a police officer for more than 15 years but is expected to resign before a misconduct meeting in January

Duggan is anticipated to resign from the police service prior to a January disciplinary meeting, at which he is anticipated to be sacked.

When the event occurred in Chester’s Revolution nightclub, he had been a police officer with the North Wales Police for 15 years.

The prosecutor, Alex Morgan, stated that the Christmas celebration brought together cops from various jurisdictions.

“During the time that the defendant was in the bar, he sexually touched the bottom of one of the complainants. Prior to that, the defendant had placed his arm around her waist, making her uneasy.

“After a short time, the defendant stood between her and another female.”Each victim will receive £1,000 in compensation after being groped by a drunken Duggan at a festive gathering last year

The defendant’s arm was placed around her waist before being placed around her derriere. It was intentional. She felt his fingers enter the crevice of her derriere. She could feel the pressure of his fingers through her clothing and undergarments.

She kicked out at his ankle with her foot to encourage him to stop as a result of being shocked by the situation.

During the party, Mr. Morgan also described a second assault on another employee.

Additionally, her colleague recalled a sexual assault from the same night out. He clung to her for what seemed like an eternity and squeezed her waist, causing her great discomfort.

‘She instructed him to cease on numerous occasions. She made it quite clear she was serious.Duggan's solicitor told Warrington Magistrates' Court that he had 'disgraced himself' and was lucky to have a wife who had stood by him

While his hand was around her waist, he brought his face to her neck and made kissing sounds. The prosecutor stated that his hand then moved between her legs and behind her dress before touching her vagina over clothing.

His fingers brushed against her bottom cheek in the region of her vagina. She was not wearing tights or leggings, but she was wearing underpants.

It caused her considerable distress and discomfort.

Each victim will receive £1,000 in compensation after intoxicated Duggan molested them at a holiday party last year.

Duggan’s attorney told the Warrington Magistrates’ Court that his client ‘disgraced himself’ and was fortunate to have a wife who supported him.

His wife and the two victims were there in the audience.

One of the women, a detective who works with rape victims, stated in a statement, ‘When he put his arm around me, I was astonished, but when he touched me in that manner, I was horrified. I had no idea what to do. I wanted to tell someone, but I didn’t want to ruin the evening for everyone.

The investigator stated that she had always encouraged victims of sexual assault to file charges, but she now understood how ‘exhausting’ it was to do so.

She also said that there were rumors among her coworkers that Duggan was a predator and had previously assaulted someone, but she never imagined it would happen to her.

The victim, incensed that Duggan received a full year of sergeant’s pay for the incident, wished there had been a trial so she could have had her say.

It appears unjust. I am ultimately relieved that Gareth Duggan is no longer a member of the police force. It is a privilege to serve in the police department.

In mitigation, defense attorney Daniel Weed stated that Duggan suffered from PTSD as a result of the traumatic incidents he encountered during his 15 years of front-line policing. The defence said Duggan was struggling with mental health conditions including PTSD as a result of 15 years of front-line policing

“Police work on the front lines is not a pretty place at all. That has an effect on the person. For everyone whose mental health was affected by a certain factor.

Concerns exist over his mental health to the extent that it may be PTSD and that he is undergoing counseling in this regard.

Mr. Weed stated that Duggan had “disgraced himself” and acknowledged that he would be fired during the January misconduct hearing.

In addition to losing his employment and monthly salary of £2,100, Mr. Weed told the court that Duggan’s wife had also been affected.

The attorney stated, “He is really fortunate to have someone ready to accompany him to court and be his wife; she sees something positive in him.”

He is a damaged and shamed guy. Sending him to prison would break him more than anything else.

As a result of 15 years of front-line police, according to the defense, Duggan struggled with mental health issues such as PTSD.

Duggan was also ordered to perform 200 hours of unpaid labor and 35 days of rehabilitative activities with the probation department. He must also sign the Sexual Offender Register for a period of seven years.

District Judge Jack McGarva told him, “As a police officer, the public and your peers have the right to view you as a role model and someone they can rely on.” You have utterly let them down. Any penalty must demonstrate that police officers are beyond reproach.

The judge highlighted the case of PC Wayne Couzens as an example of some of the ‘very awful things’ committed by police officers in recent years.

It diminishes the standing of all other police officers. Every other police officer is diminished by your actions.

Judge McGarva emphasized the impact of the assault on the victims and stated that Duggan’s intoxication was not an acceptable explanation.

“I must remember that this conviction will have a significant effect on you and your family. But let’s not forget that you caused harm to others. This was not a momentary contact. It was significant in both instances. It goes beyond merely brushing against someone in a sexual manner.

It was a very significant encounter that will likely affect them for the remainder of their lives. They will never forget how dreadful that feeling was.

“It is true that you have encountered some pretty terrible things in your life as a police officer, but how many tens of thousands of police officers in Wales have not behaved in this manner? It does not make you behave like this.

The judge stated, “Something really wrong has caused you to behave in this manner.”

  • Russia and Iran construct a 3,000-kilometer, multibillion-dollar commerce corridor

According to Bloomberg, Russia and Iran are constructing a 3,000-kilometer-long transcontinental commerce corridor from Eastern Europe to the Indian Ocean. The project’s cost is estimated to reach $25 billion.

At the northern end of the trade route is the Sea of Azov, which washes the Crimean Peninsula and connects to the mouth of the Don River. From this place on the global map, river, sea, and rail transport lines lead to Iranian ports on the Caspian Sea. The corridor passes across Iranian territory and terminates in the Indian Ocean.

The new trade route will allow Russia and Iran to expedite the shipment of commodities by river and rail, thereby reducing the delivery distance by thousands of kilometers. In addition, the corridor will be insulated from Western intervention, and member nations will be able to develop supply chains that are resistant to sanctions in Asia’s rapidly expanding economy, according to analysts.

Using ship-tracking data, Bloomberg reported that dozens of Russian and Iranian vessels, including those carrying sanctioned cargoes, already travel on the new route.

“This is an illustration of how great-power competition is fast changing trade networks in a global economy that appears destined to divide into rival blocs. Under immense sanctions pressure, Russia and Iran are gravitating toward each other, and both are also looking east. The objective is to hide business linkages from Western intervention and develop new ones with Asia’s booming economies, according to Bloomberg.

The West is dissatisfied with Russia-Iran cooperation

Concern has been expressed by Western nations regarding the work Russia and Iran are conducting on the new route.

“We are keeping a close eye on both this route and the Iranian-Russian relationship in general. We are concerned about any effort to aid Russia in evading sanctions, US sanctions strategy coordinator James O’Brien was reported as saying by Bloomberg.

Russia and Iran have formed a robust economic alliance by 2022. In 2021, the trade volume between the two nations was little over four billion dollars. In January to October of 2022, trade volumes surpassed those of record-setting 2021. Russia and Iran mostly trade in agricultural products, although the two countries have lately signed deals for the supply of industrial and aviation components to Russia.

  • Morocco is welcomed home as a hero

The Moroccan national team was greeted with a hero’s welcome upon their arrival in Rabat on Tuesday, following their brilliant run at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Thousands of supporters gathered in Rabat’s capital city to welcome club manager Walid Regragui and his squad with shouts, flags, and pyrotechnics.

The Atlas Lions created history by reaching the semi-finals of the world’s largest football event for the first time ever by an African team.

The beginning of their fairytale began when they defeated the second-ranked team in Group F, Belgium, by a score of 2-0 in their second meeting. They went on to win the group.

In the round of 16, they shocked 2010 World Cup champions Spain by edging them in a penalty shootout to send them to an early exit from the competition.

Regragui and his squad showed that they were on a mission when they defeated Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal 1-0 in the quarterfinals to make history in the world championship.

In the semifinals, they were defeated by the defending champions, France, bringing a stop to their amazing run.

Last week Saturday, the north African team’s loss against Croatia in the third-place match gave them fourth place in the competition.

Morocco unquestionably exceeded the World Cup expectations for an African team, as the underdogs exhibited some of the most dynamic football and found some of the most fascinating stars who have attracted the interest of Europe’s top clubs.

Professor Puleng LenkaBula, Principal and Vice-Chancellor, acknowledged in a statement that a piece of the building was injured by the fire and that no injuries were recorded.

“In accordance with customary procedure, the team notified both the City of Tshwane Fire Department and the South African Police Services” (SAPS). A nurse for the National Health Service was fired after she was discovered stealing two medications from a hospital pharmacy to relieve headaches while she worked.NHS nurse Francesca Morgan, 32, has lost her job after she was caught stealing two tablets from a hospital drugstore to treat her headaches while she worked

Francesca Morgan, 32, took co-codamol and paracetamol in June 2021 after being ill while working at Arrowe Park Hospital in Liverpool.

An investigation revealed that she took the prescription without the needed written permission on the “assumption” that she was permitted to do so.

The Wirral Magistrates’ Court granted Morgan a 12-month conditional release yesterday after he pled guilty to two counts of stealing by an employee.

Francesca Morgan, a 32-year-old NHS nurse, has lost her job after being discovered stealing two headache pills from the hospital pharmacy.

Morgan took co-codamol and paracetamol in June 2021 after feeling ill while working at Arrowe Park Hospital near Liverpool.

Between June 6 and June 18 of last year, health officials reported stolen prescription drugs, prompting police to investigate the thefts.

The court heard that investigators deployed a hidden camera that filmed Woolton resident Morgan treating herself to cocaine.

The prosecutor, Yvonne Dobson, stated, “The hospital initiated an investigation due to the requirement to replenish a high amount of medications.” To check the amount of medication at the beginning and conclusion of each day, a tablet count was implemented.

This was implemented without the staff’s knowledge.

Following this, a hidden camera was installed. It was discovered that a number of employees were not following the necessary protocol when handling medications.Morgan took a co-codamol pill and, on another occasion, a paracetamol tablet after she felt unwell while working at Arrowe Park Hospital near Liverpool in June 2021

Health officials reported missing prescription drugs at Arrowe Park Hospital between June 6 and June 18 of last year, prompting police to open an investigation.

The court heard that investigators put a hidden camera that filmed Morgan (pictured), of Woolton, helping herself to drugs.

Ms. Dobson said, “The defendant was also observed taking medication without justification.”

She stole the medication for her own use. On the initial occasion, she took co-codamol. On the second occasion, paracetamol was administered.

The prosecutor also claimed that Morgan was observed ingesting the pills. She emphasized that the nurse was not being held accountable for the theft of all the medications.

The prosecution stated, “We are not accusing her of the total theft.”Police began investigating the thefts after health officials noticed prescription medication had gone missing between June 6 and June 18 of last year at Arrowe Park Hospital

“These are two isolated occurrences. She assumed she had implicit permission to use the drug. Although she had no prior convictions, she has since lost her good character.

Because of the thefts, Morgan has lost both her job and her career. The court was informed that she had also lost her home and had subsequently moved in with her grandma.

In mitigation, defense attorney Laura Flynn informed the court that as a result of the thefts, Morgan had lost her employment and her career. She has also lost her residence and now resides with her grandmother.Investigators installed a secret camera which captured Morgan (pictured), of Woolton, helping herself to the drugs, the court heard

The attorney stated that her client had been experiencing headaches while on duty and believed that taking the drug was permissible because other nurses were doing it.

Morgan has lost her job and her career as a consequence of the thefts. She had also lost her home and has since moved in with her grandmother, the court was told

Morgan pled guilty to two counts of employee theft. The magistrates awarded her a 12-month conditional discharge, meaning she would not be subject to incarceration unless she commits another crime during the next year. In addition, she was ordered to pay £144 in costs and victim surcharge.

Peter Mawdsley, chairman of the board, stated, “You have already lost your job and your home.” Accordingly, a conditional discharge is justified.
