Today, it was reported that Ryan Giggs will have to stand trial again on charges of assault and controlling and coercive behavior against his ex-girlfriend.

The former Manchester United and Wales footballer must now endure at least ten months of agony before learning the outcome of his retrial.
The decision to retry the former Manchester United and Wales footballer was made by the Crown Prosecution Service after a three-week trial concluded without a verdict last week.
The 48-year-old former Wales coach is accused of beating Kate Greville, 38, and her sister Emma, 26, during an altercation fueled by alcohol at his multimillion-pound mansion in Worsley.
He is also accused of three years of controlling and coercive behavior against PR executive Greville, claims he denies.
Former Manchester United player Ryan Giggs appeared before the Manchester Crown Court on August 31.
The case of Giggs had been examined at Manchester Crown Court throughout the month of August, but the trial collapsed when the jury failed to reach a judgment after 20 hours of deliberation.
His new court hearing has been postponed until at least July of next year, extending the agonizing wait for the former Manchester United winger.
The seven women and four men on the jury at Manchester Crown Court were released on August 31 after nearly a full day of deliberation without reaching a result.
Due to illness, one of the twelve jurors was excused from service.
Giggs is accused of attacking Kate Greville, 38, and her sister Emma Greville, 26.
The seventeen-day hearing is believed to have cost the taxpayer more than $100,000.
The earliest provisional retrial date of June 5 was communicated to the court, when the former footballer bowed his head and appeared dejected.
Lynne Giggs, who has supported her son throughout and seen the proceedings from the public gallery, placed her head between her hands.
She stated outside of court that her son’s life was “on pause.”
Giggs was charged with one crime of controlling and coercive conduct and two counts of assault.
