President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden have gotten individual invitations to the Queen’s burial, obstructing former President Donald Trump’s ability to attend.
Thursday afternoon, local time, Queen Elizabeth II of England passed away after 70 years on the British monarchy. A funeral of state is scheduled for September 19.
CNN, citing unidentified White House sources, said that the Bidens have gotten two personal invites rather than being asked to create a US delegation amid the preparations.
In light of the widespread belief that the White House will be invited to organize a delegation, there has been speculation as to whether Biden will include Trump. The 45th president’s spokeswoman did not immediately answer to Insider’s inquiry.
Trump, who met the Queen in 2018 and 2019, declared his deep affection for her in a statement released shortly after her passing, in which he called her a “great and lovely person.”
“No one else was like her!” he wrote.
It has never been quite apparent, however, whether this affection was returned. Trump’s travels to the United Kingdom were plagued by huge demonstrations and protocol violations, including holding her waiting for around 10 minutes.
One ludicrous internet idea said that the Queen, who has never declared her political views in public, was conveying a covert anti-Trump message via her choice of brooch.

The White House confirmed on September 7 that Vice President Kamala Harris will head a US delegation to the burial of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in September.
At the Queen Mother’s funeral, one of the largest royal funerals in the United Kingdom, then-First Lady Laura Bush led a team that included two former ambassadors.
The Associated Press (AP) reported on Sunday that Biden accepted the invitation to attend the Queen’s burial.
